While February 14th is widely recognized as Valentine’s Day, in Ondo State, it also holds special significance as the birthday of High Chief Bamidele Omosehin, the Founder of the Bamidele Omosehin Foundation (BOF).

Although Chief Bamidele was unavoidably absent, his unwavering commitment to humanitarian service and community development remained evident. His team from the Bamidele Omosehin Foundation (BOF) carried out a series of philanthropic outreaches on his behalf, ensuring that his tradition of giving back to society continued.
Humanitarian Outreaches Across Ondo State
To mark the occasion, the BOF team embarked on a series of visits to orphanages, hospitals, and correctional centers, culminating in a grand reception for widows and vulnerable members of the community at his residence in Iju-Odo.
Visit to Christ Orphanage Home, Ondo Town
The outreach began with a visit to Christ Orphanage Home in Ondo Town, where the BOF team presented foodstuffs, toiletries, and other essential supplies on behalf of Chief Bamidele.

In appreciation, Evangelist Mrs. Solayide Akokewa Olaseinde, the proprietor of the orphanage, prayed for Chief Bamidele, expressing gratitude for his generosity. She also urged other privileged individuals in the community to emulate his gesture of compassion and love for the needy.

Support for Patients at State Specialist Hospital, Okitipupa
The team then proceeded to the State Specialist Hospital, Okitipupa, where they were warmly received by Chief Matron, Nurse Augustine Agofure. Relief items were distributed to patients and hospital staff, bringing smiles to their faces.

In his remarks, Nurse Agofure lauded Chief Bamidele Omosehin’s consistent support, recalling that BOF had made similar donations the previous year. He also highlighted pressing infrastructural needs, including bed sheets, pillows, and other medical supplies, appealing for further assistance to enhance the hospital’s service delivery.
Humanitarian Visit to the Nigerian Correctional Service, Okitipupa
Extending their outreach to the Nigerian Correctional Service (Prison) in Okitipupa, the BOF team donated gift items to inmates, reinforcing the foundation’s commitment to uplifting all members of society, including those in correctional facilities.

A representative of the Commandant expressed appreciation on behalf of the prison authorities, acknowledging that few people remember prisoners when extending charity. He emphasized that such acts of kindness could inspire hope and contribute to reducing crime and rehabilitating inmates.
Grand Reception for Widows and Vulnerable Members of the Community
The final event of the day took place at Chief Bamidele Omosehin’s residence in Iju-Odo, where a large gathering of widows, elderly individuals, and other vulnerable members of the community eagerly awaited their turn to celebrate and receive support.

Although he was not physically present, his team ensured that food, gift items, and financial support were distributed to all attendees. The widows, in particular, expressed deep gratitude, offering songs and prayers for Chief Bamidele’s continued success.

As part of the BOF empowerment initiative, several individuals received special business and educational support:
- Akinbayo Itunu from Ilaje was presented with a deep freezer to expand her fish business.
- Osemuyiwa Oluwadamilare received a cheque of N300,000 to help him establish a barbershop, with BOF pledging continued mentorship and support.
- Dolapo from Odigbo, a student of Osun State University, who had requested scholarship support, was awarded ₦100,000 to aid his education.
The recipients, overwhelmed with joy, expressed their appreciation for Chief Bamidele’s benevolence, emphasizing how these gestures would significantly transform their lives.

Speaking on Behalf of High Chief Bamidele Omosehin
Representing Chief Bamidele Omosehin, the Executive Director of Bamidele Omosehin Leadership Development Initiative (BOLD Initiative) emphasized that Chief Bamidele’s commitment to his people and community goes far beyond political interests.
He urged the public to emulate his gesture of supporting the needy, stating:

Those attributing Chief Bamidele’s generosity to political motives should take a closer look—despite not holding any political office, he has supported numerous political officers and contributed immensely to the well-being of his people.
You don’t need to be a politician to make an impact. If everyone in a position of privilege follows this path, society will be a much better place.”*
Special Recognition by BOF Coordinators
In recognition of his unwavering dedication to community development, coordinators of the Bamidele Omosehin Group (BOG) from all 18 local government areas presented a special gift to Chief Bamidele.
Speaking on behalf of the coordinators, their representative acknowledged his leadership, youth development initiatives, and empowerment programs that have impacted countless lives. They reaffirmed their commitment to his vision for community transformation and pledged their continued support for his humanitarian efforts.
