President Bola Tinubu has delivered a stern warning to bandits and terrorist groups, urging them to surrender or face dire consequences. In a lecture hosted by the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abuja, Tinubu, represented by National Security Adviser Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, declared that Nigeria would no longer tolerate insecurity and is ready to take decisive action to restore peace across the country.
During the event, Tinubu emphasized that the government had adopted both military and non-military strategies to counter Boko Haram, banditry, and kidnapping. He encouraged criminal groups to surrender and hinted at the severe consequences if they failed to do so. Tinubu also praised recent military operations and reassured citizens that efforts to ensure their safety would continue.
The lecture provided a platform to discuss Nigeria’s security challenges and highlighted the government’s focus on fostering accountability and addressing the root causes of instability through economic development. As Chair of ECOWAS, Tinubu underscored the importance of regional cooperation to tackle security issues in the Sahel.
