In Kasoa, a tragic incident occurred involving the deaths of 22-year-old Kwabena Osei and his 19-year-old girlfriend, Princess, in a gruesome act of revenge linked to internet fraud. Reports indicate that Osei, who was allegedly involved in online scams, refused to share around GHS 190,000 he had obtained through fraudulent activities. His refusal sparked outrage among his associates.
Tensions escalated when Osei repeatedly declined requests from his gang members to split the illicit gains. In retaliation, his friends reportedly doused his house in gasoline and set it on fire. Both Osei and Princess, who was inside at the time, perished in the blaze.
Local sources revealed that Princess had been complicit in the fraud, acting as a voice in scam operations to deceive victims. This incident has drawn attention to the dangers of internet fraud and the extreme actions people may take when conflicts over ill-gotten wealth arise. Authorities have launched an investigation into the matter and are working to identify and hold those responsible accountable.
