President Tinubu Embarks on UK Vacation Following Recent Foreign Visits
Abuja, Nigeria – President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is set to leave Abuja today for a two-week vacation in the United Kingdom, just weeks after his previous trip to London. This was confirmed by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, who described the trip as a “working vacation” aimed at allowing the President to reflect on his administration’s economic policies while continuing his official duties.
The vacation follows Tinubu’s recent state visit to China, which included a brief stop in the UK. He left Nigeria on August 29, with a layover in Dubai before arriving in Beijing for engagements starting on September 1. After his diplomatic meetings in China, Tinubu spent a short period in the UK, returning to Nigeria on September 15.
During his stay in London, a video surfaced showing the President leaving St. Mary’s Hospital, sparking rumors about his health. Activist Mahdi Shehu criticized Tinubu, accusing him of being dishonest about the nature of his visit. Despite the speculation, the Royal Family confirmed that Tinubu met with King Charles at Buckingham Palace, sharing an image of their meeting on social media.
Concerns have arisen among Nigerians regarding the transparency of the President’s frequent trips, with critics questioning the impact of his absence on domestic issues. President Tinubu is expected to return after his vacation ends, according to Onanuga.
