Nigerians have been alerted to expect thunderstorms and rainfall across the country from Monday, September 23, to Wednesday, September 25, 2024.
The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) issued this weather advisory on Monday, warning of morning thunderstorms in parts of Sokoto, Kebbi, and Borno States.
The forecast further indicated that later in the day, thunderstorms would affect areas such as Borno, Yobe, Jigawa, Taraba, Adamawa, Gombe, Bauchi, Kano, Katsina, Kaduna, Zamfara, Kebbi, and Sokoto States. Similarly, states like the FCT, Niger, Nasarawa, Benue, Plateau, and Kwara would experience thunderstorms in the morning hours.
The same weather patterns are expected to affect various other states nationwide.
NiMet also urged citizens to avoid flood-prone areas and follow government safety guidelines. The agency emphasized staying updated through weather reports on their official website, www.nimet.gov.ng.
