Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have arrested the two wives and son of a Lagos community leader for drug trafficking.
In a statement released on Sunday, September 22, NDLEA spokesperson Femi Babafemi confirmed that Alhaji Bashir Mohammed Talba, the Sarkin Yamma of Badagry West LCDA, is currently on the run after 226kg of cannabis was seized from his two homes.
During a raid on September 18, operatives recovered 93 compressed blocks of cannabis weighing 57.6kg from his first wife, Asma’u Bashiru, and his son, Sadat Bashiru, at one of his residences in Ashipa, Seme Badagry. Another 168.6kg of cannabis was found at his second home in Aketegbo, Seme Badagry, in the possession of his second wife, Hauwa Bashir.
