President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has appointed Hon. Ojukaye Flag Amachree as the new Director of Energy Security within the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA).
The announcement, made through a statement by Zakari Mijinyawa, Head of Strategic Communications at ONSA, highlights the administration’s commitment to maintaining a stable, sustainable, and secure energy supply for Nigeria.
Amachree, with over two decades of experience in business, politics, and the energy sector, is expected to leverage his expertise to tackle the country’s energy challenges. He holds degrees in Management and is a graduate of the Lagos Business School, with a notable leadership background in both public and private sectors, particularly in the Niger Delta region.
The newly established Energy Security Directorate within ONSA will focus on policy coordination, infrastructure protection, data management, security strategies, risk advisory, and building strategic alliances across the energy sector.
As the Director of Energy Security, Amachree will collaborate with government ministries, security agencies, energy regulators, international partners, and community leaders to implement solutions aimed at addressing Nigeria’s current and future energy needs, according to the statement.
