Rabiu Kwankwaso, the 2023 presidential candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), has declared that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is no longer relevant in Nigeria.
Speaking at the inauguration of a newly refurbished NNPP office in Katsina State, Kwankwaso explained that he and his supporters had parted ways with the PDP because it no longer aligned with their goals. “PDP is finished because we left the party. Since they veered off course, we decided to move on,” he stated.
As the 2027 general elections approach, the former Kano State Governor expressed optimism about his prospects, saying the NNPP is well-positioned to win the presidency and gain control of several states. Kwankwaso urged Nigerians not to be influenced by money or gifts during elections, encouraging them to vote wisely and make informed decisions.
Katsina NNPP Chairman, Armaya’u Abdulkadir, highlighted the party’s efforts to educate voters on the importance of its new logo, which he said symbolizes “education for all,” a key principle of Kwankwaso’s Kwankwasiyya movement. Abdulkadir stressed the need for grassroots sensitization to raise awareness about the logo’s significance.
Kwankwaso’s remarks come as the NNPP continues to strengthen its grassroots presence and prioritize educational reforms ahead of upcoming electoral challenges.
