The Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, has proceeded on an indefinite leave of absence due to a worsening medical situation within his immediate family.
In a statement issued on Saturday to the Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila, Ngelale explained that the decision was made after extensive consultations with his family. He noted that on Friday, he submitted a memo to the Chief of Staff, informing him of the need to step aside from his role to address pressing family medical matters.
“While I fully understand that the ship of state waits for no man, this agonizing decision — to pause my functions as Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, official spokesperson of the President, Special Presidential Envoy on Climate Actions, and Chairman of the Presidential Steering Committee on the Project Evergreen — was taken after significant consultations with my family over the past several days,” Ngelale said.
He expressed his desire to return to national service once circumstances permit and requested privacy for his family during this time.
