The NYSConversation 3.0 event, held on August 27, 2024, at the FCT Exhibition Pavilion in Abuja, gathered prominent dignitaries, regulatory agencies, tech enthusiasts, and youth leaders to deliberate on the future of technology and innovation in Nigeria.
A highlight of the event was the presentation of the Technopreneur Honors award to Rafiu Adio, CEO of Adraff Motors, in recognition of his remarkable contributions to youth enterprise and development. In his acceptance speech, Adio expressed gratitude to the Nigerian Youth Stakeholders for their unwavering dedication and patriotism. He also pledged to collaborate with them in furthering national growth and development.
The event was graced by notable dignitaries, including Hon. Tosin Adeyanju, Executive Secretary of the National Lottery Trust Fund; the EFCC Chairman, represented by Director of Public Communication Mr. Wilson Uwhare; and Elizabeth Makio, Program Associate for Peacebuilding and Conflict Prevention at the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime.
Other distinguished attendees included representatives from the Office of the Special Assistant to the President on ICT Development and Innovation, Onome Amukoyo; the Special Assistant to the President on Youth Initiatives, represented by Ololade Ogunubi; and Mrs. Winifred Shopeka, FCT Coordinator of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), alongside key figures from Nigeria’s tech industry.
The event featured exhibitions showcasing innovative solutions from organizations such as the Nigeria Communications Commission’s CSR Universal Service Provision Fund (USPF), Unicaf, LogOn, and Nairaxi.
A notable moment of the event was the unveiling of the Green City Africa Initiative during the cocktail session, which highlighted sustainable solutions for Nigeria’s urban development.
