Yesterday, 10th July, 2024 marked an unforgettable moment for me as I had the privilege of meeting Hon. Wale Raji, the esteemed representative of Epe Federal Constituency at the National Assembly. Our encounter, which began quite serendipitously, left an indelible impression on me, revealing the depth of his humility and dedication to his constituents.
It all started inside a lift, travelling from the 3rd floor to the 4th floor of the National Assembly building. I accidentally bumped into him, and upon recognizing who he was, I couldn’t help but introduce myself as one of his constituents. To my surprise, Hon. Wale Raji immediately took my hand with genuine excitement, inquiring about my name and which part of Epe I hailed from. His warm and approachable demeanour instantly put me at ease.
During our brief interaction, Hon. Wale Raji shared several inspiring initiatives he has been championing to ensure that the people of Epe enjoy the dividends of good governance. He spoke passionately about his efforts to secure a Federal Medical Centre for Epe, which would significantly improve healthcare accessibility for the community. Additionally, he detailed plans for establishing new schools in Ilara, Oriba, and Temu, underscoring his commitment to enhancing educational opportunities for the youth.
Our conversation also touched on his initiatives aimed at helping young people in the constituency secure state and federal jobs. His responsiveness and willingness to engage with a constituent, regardless of social status, spoke volumes about his character and leadership style. It was clear that Hon. Wale Raji’s commitment to his people is not just political rhetoric but a heartfelt mission.
This encounter was more than just a chance meeting; it was a testament to Hon. Wale Raji’s remarkable humility and dedication to public service. His ability to connect with constituents on a personal level, coupled with his tireless efforts to improve the lives of those in Epe, truly sets him apart as a leader.
I sincerely appreciate Hon. Wale Raji for his leadership, responsiveness, and unwavering commitment to the people of Epe Federal Constituency. His actions reflect the qualities of a true public servant, and it is an honour to have him representing us at the National Assembly.
